Miss wins Magic Millions Adelaide Classic

Quality filly Undoubtable Miss will be set for Group 1 races in the spring carnival following a stylish win in the Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic (1200m).

Undoubtable Miss (2f Not a Single Doubt - Spy Catcher by Tobougg) produced a strong burst of speed in the straight to win South Australia’s richest juvenile race at Morphettville on Monday.

She was purchased for $90,000 at the 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale by Peter Ford Thoroughbreds (FBAA) in conjunction with trainer Robbie Griffiths.

“She has always shown great talent,” Griffiths said.  ‘She ran very good seconds at Ballarat and Sandown so to come here and win was a great result.  We were contemplating going to the Sires’ Produce Stakes but this race looked more suitable.”

Undoubtable Miss defeated Danger Deal (Rebel Raider) and the favourite Spoils (Snitzel) who was also sourced at the 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions by Belmont Bloodstock Agency (FBAA).

Ford and Belmont Bloodstock’s Damon Gabbedy were back in action at the Adelaide Magic Millions yearlings sale on Monday evening and Tuesday.

Ford and Griffiths bought another Not a Single Doubt filly for $170,000 from Attunga Stud and Gabbedy paid $100,000 for a Zoustar filly offered by Woodside Park.

Dave Mee of Pinhook Bloodstock was busiest among FBAA members in Adelaide.  He took home colts by Unencumbered ($80,000), Artie Schiller ($66,000) and Good Journey ($26,000) plus a filly by Unencumbered ($42,500).

And in Florida this week, Australian agent Craig Rounsefell of Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) was prominent at the Ocala 2YO Sale.  He bought colts by Curlin ($500k) and More Than Ready ($280k) and they will go into training with Phil Damato at Santa Anita.
