Tough Trek to Queen's Cup

Tough stayer Sky Trek has earned a start in the G3 Queen's Cup (3200m) after winning the Casa Cibo Hcp (2040m) at Doomben on Saturday.

The $150,000 marathon will be the feature event at Doomben this weekend and he’s ready to handle the step up in grade and distance.  “He’s a dyed in the wool stayer and won’t have any trouble with the 3200m,” trainer Barry Lockwood claimed.  “He hasn't had much luck in the better class races lately and one thing for sure - he will just keep going all day.”

PIERINO

Sky Trek was a $150,000 buy for Astute Bloodstock (FBBA) agent Louis Le Metayer from Turangga Farm at the 2014 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  He’s not bred to get over ground being by speed sire Not A Single Doubt from G1 Emirates Stakes (1600m) winner Sky Cuddle (Snippets).

Starting with a Beaudesert maiden win as a December 3yo, he’s gradually risen through the ranks, via a Lismore Cup victory earlier this season, for a syndicate managed by Storm Creek Racing.

Pierino is another in-form Astute Bloodstock buy following a running double at Goulburn for trainer Danny Williams.  A 3yo son of Pierro, he won a maiden first-up in June and then dominated with a front-running victory in a Class 1 on Friday.

A Newgate Farm graduate from the 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions, Pierino is the first foal of No Looking Back (Redoute's Choice) who won a LR Carrington Stakes at Rosehill.  She was also runner-up in a G1 Blue Diamond Stakes and RL Magic Millions 2YO Classic, losing the latter on protest.

Federation of Bloodstock Agents Australia (FBAA) was formed in 1988 to maintain, improve and develop the standards, status and services of bloodstock agents throughout Australia.  Its members operate with the utmost integrity and professionalism and are bound by the strict Industry Code of Conduct.
