Lifetime in Industry: I have been involved in the Thoroughbred Industry since 1973. On leaving school in 1972 at Urrbrae Agricultural High School, I completed my wool classing ticket the following year. In September 1973 I was employed by Coles Bloodstock Agency in Adelaide (later known as Dalgety Bloodstock), and worked under Mr John Foote in the Pedigree department. Mr David Coles & Mr Reg Angel were Managers at that time. I worked in associated bloodstock activities through to 1982 until Dalgety Bloodstock ceased in South Australia. I was then self employed in the Industry until December 1984 when I joined the Australian Breeders Co-Operative (ABCOS) as Auction Sales Manager. ABCOS was the prime Bloodstock Agency in South Australia and conducted all auctions and agency for Thoroughbred Breeders. During this period I was General Manager from 1988 to 1994. Magic Millions became the Auction house in South Australia in 1999 whom I enjoyed working for until my resignation in May 2001 after accepting a position with Contract Racing Pty. Ltd. Hancock Quality Bloodstock commenced operation in January 2002 and services many clients including Contract Racing Pty. Ltd. Main Areas of Activity:
Hobby: Co Bred Group 1 winner PAINT and Group 3 winners COUNTRY LODGE & RAZOR BLADE, as well as numerous City winners from having 3 or 4 mares on hand at any one time. Also bred Australian Champion 2 year old Pacer & Derby winner Pappy McCoy.

When David Hayes ventured to Hong Kong to further his training career, Mr. Bridgland returned to Adelaide to implement a new business unit - The South Australian Breeders' Incentive Scheme (SABIS) for TRSA Ltd the principal authority controlling thoroughbred racing in South Australia. In October 2005 he commenced the operations of David Bridgland Bloodstock, a bloodstock agency specializing in the purchase of broodmare prospects and logistics of managing thoroughbred broodmares at stud.
