• Selection of stallions suitable for the Australian Racing Industry, either from local ranks or overseas.
• Purchase of shares in stallions.
• Recommendations of matings for mares and purchase of stallion nominations.
• Placement of insurance with recognised firms, not only to secure a competitive rate but to ensure the policy meets the needs of the client.

Consultancy

Member firms are happy to consult on any of the above matters, even if a commission is not to be fulfilled. A consultancy fee may be charged, but the way is open for a client to secure any number of independent opinions for their investment options.

• Opinions of value of bloodstock for purchase, dissolution of Partnership or Insurance.
• Assistance with Stud Book Documentation, Registration of your racehorse
• Recommendation of a trainer for your horse and ongoing liaison
• Management of your stock, checking and payment of accounts for expenses.
• Transport arrangements for your horses across Australia and those being exported or imported.
• Updates on pedigrees, supply of statistical data for stock already owned, or prior to your purchase.

Members of the Federation recommend that investors undertake certain protective measures to assist them achieve success in our industry. The expertise of members of the Federation is set out above, but we can also recommend:

• Experienced veterinarians to undertake physical appraisals of stock being purchased.
• Experienced accounting and legal firms to offer advice on the establishment of joint venture and syndication agreements.
• Agistment properties, where the standard of horse care is suitable for the year round care of your breeding stock and preparation of animals for sale
• Assistance in joining the Thoroughbred Breeders Association and Racehorse Owners Association.
