FBAA account for 22% at Magic Millions

The 2026 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale proved to be a versatile buyer’s market, with steady results to open the yearling sales circuit in the Southern Hemisphere.

Book 1 grossed $203.6m ($207m) for the 980 lots sold (753) with a clearance rate of 87% (83%) at an average of $270,468 ($269,363) and a median of $200,000 ($200,000).

Despite the clearance rate improving, the 2026 gross was down from last year which could be attributed to an increase in withdrawn lots 118 (95) and a smaller catalogue.

FBAA members accounted for 151 of the purchases made in book 1, contributing to 22% of the gross and 20% of the total number of lots sold.

Julian Blaxland had the highest number of lots secured with 23 purchases and Jim Clarke was the highest grossing member being involved in 20 purchases for $8m.
