FBAA 17% of Melbourne Premier

The 2025 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale with 394 lots sold (565), grossing $53.5m ($53m) with a clearance rate of 80% (82%) at an average of $135,944 ($127,632) and median of $100,000 ($90,000). Despite an increase to passed in and withdrawn lots, the 2025 gross figure remained competitive with 2024. 

The FBAA members were responsible for purchasing a total of 50 yearlings, accounting for 17% of the gross and 13% of the quantity of stock sold. The two top lots both realised $1m and were each purchased by members, Andrew Williams and Damon Gabbedy Damon’s Belmont Bloodstock lead the FBAA agent’s purchasing table with a total of $2.11m, whilst John Foote dominated the purchase totals with 8 yearling purchases.
